Kayak around The Needles rocks and lighthouse

Freshwater, Isle of Wight

How would you like to get up close and personal with one of the Isle of Wight’s most iconic landmarks?

Take a day trip kayaking with Isle of Wight Adventure Activities and you could find yourself in virtual touching distance as you paddle around the striking chalk stacks and the famous lighthouse of the Needles.

The Needles rock formation took its name from a pillar-shaped rock that collapsed during the 18th century, yet even without it they still make for an incredible spectacle. During your day of kayak exploration you will discover a number of sheltered coves, beaches and caves - many of which are inaccessible by foot.

There’s the chance to stop off along the way for a packed lunch and then a spot of snorkelling. With the weather and waves on your side you could make it all the way round to The Needles where you can play about between the island’s most famous natural feature.
