Formally part of the Midland Railway’s route between Manchester and London, this 8.5 mile trail offers an amazing journey through narrow cuttings and over impressive viaducts above the River Wye, plus four fantastic re-opened tunnels to whizz through!
Enjoy a welcome break at Hassop Station, now home to a café, book and gift shop, it’s the perfect stop off to rest your weary legs, have a break and a good old nosey around the shop! Hop back on your bike for a short journey onwards to the popular market town of Bakewell with attractive courtyards, independent shops, cafes and of course home to the confection made by a recipe slip up by a cook in the 19th century resulting in Bakewell Pudding – make sure you try some while you’re there, you’ll burn off the calories on your return journey.
