Enjoy a dog friendly coastal break in Northumberland

Bamburgh, Northumberland

Take your pooch to Northumberland where you and your best mate will discover truly staggering views, atmospheric dog friendly beaches, castles and dog friendly pubs.

Bamburgh Castle beach has got to be one of the most atmospheric locations for dog walking anywhere in England and this beach is dog friendly all year round.

This scenic beach stretches for miles and is bordered by rock pools and a crescendo of crashing waves to the east and the alluring rural landscape of Northumberland to the west.

For 1,500 years the view from the beach has been dominated by Bamburgh Castle, rising some 150ft from the weathered basalt rock. It’s a truly beguiling place to take your dog for a walk and expansive enough to ensure you’re both worn out by the end of the day. Nearby, the village of Craster sits almost halfway along the Heritage Coast – a 20-mile stretch of coastline designated an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty.
