Discover the Ellesmere Sculpture Trail

Ellesmere, Shropshire

The Ellesmere Sculpture Trail is a series of sculptures by contemporary artists who took their inspiration from the landscape.

Originally set up as part of an international touring exhibition of sculpture in the landscape in 2006, the Ellesmere Sculpture trail can now been enjoyed by visitors all year round. New sculptures are added each year, and each piece is made using local materials, which reflect the history and heritage of the landscape.

The trail provides visitors with a free and gentle tour around Ellesmere, and takes in the attractive settings of The Mere (the largest of North Shropshire’s glacial meres), the historic Castlefields area and the Ellesmere section of the Llangollen Canal. Most of the sculpture trail is also accessible by wheelchair and pushchair.
