Scilly is a great destination for cheap UK breaks. Enjoy a 2hr 45min sail across from Penzance on the Scillonian III ferry, choose a campsite (there is one on every island except Tresco, booking in advance is advisable), and immerse yourself in a quality of life long lost to many other parts of England.
Encourage the children to forget the Wi-Fi for a bit and remind them of more simple pleasures. Enjoy the freedom of the Isles of Scilly and indulge in a number of cheap and free things to do.
Search for shells along the white sand beaches, take a walk around the coastal paths and drink in the views. Go rock-pooling, build dens, take a picnic and explore another island for the day.
