Walk in the footsteps of Alfred Wainwright

Blackburn, Lancashire

Follow the Beamers trail through Witton Country Park, and onto the Yellow Hills above Blackburn.

Along the trail, you’ll find a memorial troposcope to Alfred Wainwright, and you’ll be able to take in the same magnificent views that inspired him. This is a beautiful six mile walk, covering both hill and valley, passes through farmland and along river banks.

The walk starts in the picturesque Witton Country Park in Blackburn, but it could easily be adapted to start at one of the excellent local public houses along its route, where you could sample the local “Wainwright” Ale.
