Wander round immaculate gardens and artistic rooms at this historic family home.
Renishaw Hall has been home to the Sitwell family for nearly 400 years, and these days it’s Alexandra Sitwell who proudly invites you into the house where the family still lives today.
As you tour the ground floor, you can’t help but wonder about the generations of eccentric artists who have lived here and left their mark in gold picture frames and books dotted around the rooms. Paintings, poems and novels aren’t the only things that have been cultivated here over the years, though; the carefully landscaped Italian gardens are also open to the public, and in summer an unmistakably floral scent follows you around the path around the lake.
VisitEngland would like to invite you to take part in a short survey about our website, it should take no more than a couple of minutes.
