Love cheese, love Cheshire

Nantwich, Cheshire

Sample Cheshire’s signature food product at local cheese shops or splash out on a cheese and wine tasting evening.

Cheshire cheese is one of the oldest recorded named cheeses in British history and remains the UK's largest-selling crumbly cheese, with sales of around 6,500 tonnes per year. A fantastic way to sample some of the county’s finest cheese is at cheese shops such as The Cheese Yard in Knutsford who run tastings with their “try before you buy” or more structured cheese and wine tasting evenings.

This Northern England county’s cheese is celebrated alongside many others from around the world at the International Cheese Awards at Dorfold Park near Nantwich, now running for more than 100 years. The show attracts over 3,700 competitive entries from around the world in 260 categories. Visitors are treated to various attractions including cheese-making demonstrations, trophy presentations and top celebrity chefs performing live throughout the day in Le Gruyere Cookery Theatre. Knutsford and Dorfold Park are just over 3 hours' drive from London.
