Get lost in Capability Brown’s stunning gardens

Bath, Somerset

Did you know that Bath and the surrounding area is home to five striking gardens designed by England’s greatest gardener Lancelot “Capability” Brown?

Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast or just have an appreciation for stunning scenery, don’t miss visiting these spectacular gardens whilst in Bath.

The 18th century Prior Park Landscape Garden is a peaceful haven in the middle of Bath where Capability Brown was employed in the early 1760s. A short distance outside of Bath is Bowood House and Gardens, with sweeping lawns and a beautiful lake, this is an example of one of Capability Brown’s finest work.

Book onto a garden tour with an expert guide and discover hidden corners followed by lunch or a cream tea. Longleat, well known for being the first and one of the best safari parks in the UK, also has 900 acres of stunning Capability Brown landscaped gardens. Why not explore all three on a trail around the city and surrounding area?
