Spend some quality time with the family with an up-close animal encounter at South Lakes Safari Zoo in Cumbria.
With plenty of things to do with the kids, whatever the weather, Cumbria’s family-friendly attractions cater for all interests, abilities and budgets.
South Lakes Safari Zoo gives visitors the rare opportunity to explore the park on foot, discovering lions, tigers, bears, hippos, wolves and much more along the way. You can be a keeper for the day and help hand-feed the giraffes, walk in amongst the penguins and even meet the kangaroos.
Let your little cubs loose in the adventure playground before settling down for a family meal overlooking the zoo’s African plain. Stop to raid the gift shop for cuddly animals on your way out, then take your pick from a number of places to stay nearby, from campsite to cottages to country hotels.
South Lakes Safari Zoo is reopening its gates to the public on the 17th June. To ensure social distancing, the zoo will be limiting entry to visitors with pre-booked time slots. Cafes and kiosks will be open for takeaway only.
