Experience Worcestershire’s WWI commemorations

Worcester, Worcestershire

Worcester launches one of England’s largest programmes of events commemorating the centenary of the First World War.

Taking place across the entire centenary – from August 2014 through to November 2018 and beyond – are exhibitions, parades, concerts, church services, remembrance events and more.

Worcestershire’s calendar of commemoration encompasses the Three Choirs Festival in July, the world's oldest music festival, which features a World War One theme.

Throckmorton Airshow hosts a weekend of spectacular air displays in June with a Spitfire, a Hurricane, a Dakota and a War Bird. On the ground, the event showcases military and emergency response vehicles. Other aircraft includes the Typhoon Eurofighter, AAC Apache and an Auto Gyro amongst many others. Take a family picnic, sit back and enjoy.
