Put on your posh frocks and enjoy three days of racing and live music at one of the biggest events in the North East horseracing calendar.

The thundering of hooves and roaring of the crowd has sounded across Newcastle Racecourse in Gosforth Park every year since 1882, making Northumberland Plate Festival one of the oldest and most famous horseracing events in the UK. The climax of this three day event is the Northumberland Plate, or “Pitman’s Derby” on Saturday, where horses and jockeys race to win £140,000 in prize money.

Whether you’re sitting up in the stands, waving your betting slip in the air, quaffing Champagne in the hospitality tents or cheering on the jockeys from the sidelines, this is your chance to celebrate flat racing in style. And for 2024, get your groove on with Hacienda Classical, the acclaimed live orchestral clubbing series featuring DJ Graeme Park and Manchester Camerata Orchestra, for an hours-long, non-stop set.
