Visit the 17th Century at Little Woodham

Gosport, Hampshire

Discover what life would have really been like in 17th Century England.

At Little Woodham you can step back to 17th Century and experience the reality of rural life in the South of England.

You’ll meet "villagers" - interpreters dressed in period costume, who’ll share their daily lives with you and your children. Prepare timber with the sawyers at their camp, or speak with villagers as they make lace, card and spin wool or learn the skills of the Blacksmith as he beats hot iron into shape.

Those visitors with "good and lawful money of England" may enter Little Woodham's ale-house and join in conversation with whoever they may find within. Just hope you that you don’t need the services of the Barber/Surgeon (there are no anaesthetics!) or require one of the 17th Century ‘cures’ from the Apothecary…
