Tee off on England’s Golf Coast

England's Golf Coast, in the northwest of the country, has no less than seven courses in the Top 100 Courses of the UK & Ireland. Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool and Royal Lytham & St Annes, have hosted The Open Championship an impressive 32 times between them since 1897. The Open will return in 2017, at Royal Birkdale. 

Golfers can choose from a wide range of accommodation or easily reach the Golf Coast by road or rail from Liverpool. When the day’s golfing is done, explore the coastline and picturesque countryside: relax on The Wirral Peninsula, immerse yourself in the charming coastal towns of Lytham and St Annes, or head to buzzing Liverpool for urban adventures. 

Liverpool is just over 2 hours by train from London. From there you can take Merseyrail trains to Southport or The Wirral stations, from which many of the golf courses are walking distance.
