October events: Laugh out loud at Birmingham Comedy Festival

Birmingham Comedy Festival is no laughing matter - this gagfest has attracted some seriously big names like James Acaster, Jonathan Pie and Josh Widdicombe to grace the stage at past events. One day it might be you up there listening to the laughter but, until then, try one of the absolute beginners’ stand-up workshops, where you’ll learn how to turn your everyday life into comedy material and (more importantly) give the illusion of confidence.

This festival goes way past stand-up though; there’s theatre, visual arts, a comedy pub quiz, even classical music is given a funny makeover, and that’s bound to be hilarious. This year's Birmingham Comedy Festival takes place over 10 days in October with a variety of events available to book now.
