Go on a cheese tasting at Thornby Moor Cheese Dairy

Thursby, Cumbria

Integrity, great flavour and nutritional value is what's on offer at Thornby Moor Cheese Dairy.

Located at the heart of the Solway Plain, Thornby Moor Dairy is housed within the outbuildings of the old Crofton hall Estate.

Carolyn Fairbairn started making cheese in 1979 using milk from her own small herd of goats - a practical approach and a lot of trial and error.

Now there is a wonderful selection of cows and goats cheese for you to try, including Allerdale smoked - lightly smoked over Cumbrian Oak, Curthwaite - a beautiful smooth, soft goats milk curd or Blue Winnow - a delicately blued cheese with a supple body.

So be sure to call in and choose a Cumbrian cheese from the wonderful selection.
