December events: Start off your Christmas season in Chester

Take part in the Santa Dash through the city. Go searching for the decked out trees at the Christmas Tree Festival and visit the Gingerbread Village. 

Santa will be sitting in his grotto waiting for you to pop in and say hello, too, before you head to the sightsand sounds of the Christmas Market in the heart of Chester. Here you can browse the wonderfully English stalls, enjoy a delicious pork and apple bap and a mug of steaming mulled wine.

Make sure to visit The Lanterns at Chester Zoo for an unforgettable nighttime journey. Enjoy the beautiful lit gardens and the magnificent larger-than-life animal lanterns, meet the friendly festive characters and sample deliciously tasty treats. 

Outside the magnificent manor house you’ll see several beautiful animal lanterns. A lovely way to get in the festive spirit!
