Explore London’s hidden gems on a romantic city break

London

Treat yourself to some new purchases, catch a show or just snap the sights along the River Thames on a romantic city break in London.

Even though the South Bank’s buzzing with people, an amble here has its own particular kind of charm. Everywhere you look there are famous landmarks – Big Ben, The London Eye, St Paul’s and Shakespeare’s Globe – but there are quieter, alternative attractions too like the second-hand book market under Waterloo Bridge - it’s open daily, rain or shine.

If it’s a love token you’re after, make for Covent Garden's Seven Dials for boutiques, cool restaurants and artisan coffee shops aplenty. For the evening, grab some tickets to the English National Opera or a hit West End musical. London isn’t short of places to stay but if romance is on your mind, push the boat out and book a stay at the Charlotte Street Hotel.
