Based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer, captivated by her fetching wilfulness; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This timeless story of Bathsheba’s choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love – as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance. In cinemas from 1st May 2015.

The prize

To celebrate the release of the movie at cinemas on May 1st, we've teamed up with Premier Cottages to offer one lucky winner a £500 voucher that can be redeemed against a stay in one of the collection’s luxurious four or five star properties. Choose from almost one thousand homes ranging from romantic boltholes to modern barn conversions and larger houses ideal for a group celebration. The winner could even stay in a Dorset cottages close to where the film was made and visit some of the stunning featured locations.
