Woo your loved one on the Lord Byron trail

Visit Newstead Abbey, his former home, where you can visit his bedroom, complete with its original bed, furniture, and replica pistol. Hear of his heroic and curious antics as you soak up the history of this former monastery, dating back to the 12th Century.

Treat your loved one to afternoon tea in the cafe, or pack a picnic to enjoy in the extensive gardens. The Japanese, Spanish and walled gardens are all ideal for a private lunch spot. Also, take time to visit St Mary Magdalene Church in Hucknall, where you'll find the graves of Lord Byron and his famous daughter Ada Lovelace. 

Stay at Colwick Hall Hotel, another of the Byron family homes, and make a fuss of your loved one over a meal in Byron's Brasserie. Or for an extra special stay, book the newly renovated Gardener's Cottage, which is now available for holidays in Byron's backyard.
