Romantic weekend breaks in Robin Hood’s Bay
Robin Hood's Bay, North Yorkshire
"How lovely darling, you’ve booked us a romantic summer break by the sea. Hang on, what do you mean, it’s a pigsty?"
Fear not – although The Pigsty really was where the local squire once kept his porkers, the cottage-with a difference (think mini-Mediterranean temple) has been turned into one of The Landmark Trust’s classy rural retreats.
There are plenty of romantic things to do around here, like wandering down to the higgledy-piggledy smugglers’ village of Robin Hood’s Bay for hand-in-hand walks along the beach and windswept clifftop rambles, before stocking up on local delights – crab and lobster, a bottle or two of Baytown Beer and some Albion Street coffee from the Baytown Coffee Company. Then it’s back for dinner and some unforgettable views, as the stars come out above Robin Hood’s Bay.
