Romantic Langrish House countryside retreat

Petersfield, Hampshire

Plan a romantic winter break in Hampshire and explore the rolling hills and forests of the South Downs National Park.

Langrish House, a short distance from the historic market town of Petersfield, is a cosy and romantic place to stay when the temperature drops. With candle-light Christmas teas, log fires, walks from the door and a romantic history, this is the perfect country house retreat. Go for long down-land or riverside walks then find a welcoming pub or tea room for a warming brew.

This countryside was inspiration for authors such as Jane Austen and poet Edward Thomas – what could be more romantic. Circular walks follow in their footsteps and you can visit Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton - where her ring, recently acquired for the nation, is on display for all to see.
