Experience a quintessentially English Christmas

Much Wenlock, Shropshire

Visit the small market town of Much Wenlock for festive trinkets, hand-made gifts and sweet and savoury snacks at its Christmas Fayre.

Much Wenlock is said to be the home to inspiration for the modern day Olympics thanks to Dr William Penny Brookes - the promoter physical education and personal betterment - who was born, lived and worked in the small town. And over Christmas you can enjoy the merriment of the town he enjoyed as a child through their annual quintessentially English Christmas Fayre.

With over 100 stalls dedicated to Christmas merchandise, entertainment in the form of a saxophone quartet, a male voice choir, a brass band, theatre productions and a partridge in a pair tree (well, maybe not the latter); it is all rounded off with a candle lit procession down the High Street.
