Plan a picture perfect picnic in Yorkshire

Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

Picnic in beautiful rolling parkland or by a woodland river and enjoy a free museum visit.

Shibden Hall is set in 32 hectares of informal park and woodland, which have won the Green Heritage Award. The beautiful grounds are perfect for a family picnic, with cascades, pools, tunnels, terraced and fruit gardens, footpaths and an extensive children’s play area -suitable for all abilities.

At Hardcastle Crags, above Hebden Bridge, you can explore 400 acres of woodland. Discover deep rocky ravines, tumbling streams, stepping stones, oak, beech and pine woods and picnic by stepping stones over the river.

Bankfield Museum is free to enter. Set in the attractive surroundings of Akroyd Park, this Victorian mansion was the home of a local mill owner. A Museum since 1887, Bankfield tells the story of Halifax and Calderdale, using its rich and diverse collections including the award-wining ‘For King and Country’ exhibition.
