Lift the lid on Birmingham's heritage

Birmingham, West Midlands

Be transported back to the 1960s at the Newman Brothers Coffin Works.

This immersive experience in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter is one of England’s most unique heritage attractions.

Witness the traditional working machinery used to create some of the finest coffin fittings, including the fixtures for the funerals of Winston Churchill and Joseph Chamberlain.

After seeing the machinery in use step back into the building’s past to see the offices as they would have been in the 1960s. You can listen in on the staff and see a selection of the intricate fixtures that would have been made here.
