Immerse yourself in the beauty of the undiscovered south Cotswolds and take part in the annual Dursley Walking Festival, which takes place every October.
Located on the Cotswold Way, Dursley has ‘Walkers are Welcome’ status and is an ideal base for ramblers. The recently launched ‘Dursley Lantern Way’ is a circular way-marked route from the centre of Dursley via Cam, Coaley and Uley, with panoramic views over the River Severn and beyond.
The Lantern Way takes its name from the 19th century Dursley gentlemen who guided their ladies through the darkness with their untucked shirt tails. A section of the route will feature in the Dursley Walking Festival, taking place on the first weekend of October. The October Festival has been newly expanded to cover four days and 18 different walks, whether you are a seasoned walker or stroller.
This year's event takes place between 2-6 October, so head down to Dursley and join the crowd!
