July events: Journey through British history at Kynren

Bishop Auckland, Durham

Experience an epic storytelling journey through time at this spectacular live-action night show in Durham.

This summer, head north to Durham and allow Kynren to take you on a captivating journey through 2,000 years of British history, myth and legend.

This spectacular live-action outdoor show begins at sunset and ends in starlight, and plays out on a vast open-air stage with a full-size lake at its centre, landscaped in a loop in the River Wear beneath Auckland Castle in the Vale of Durham.

This year Eleven Arches presents an updated version of Kynren with a new section of the show dedicated to the Vikings. From the Roman occupation to the Second World War, the show will take you on an action-packed voyage through time. You will witness ships and steam engines, mass choreography and dance, fierce combat, dazzling pyrotechnics, fire and astonishing lighting and water effects.

After wowing more than 100,000 visitors last year, this summer's 17 shows (hosted on various weekends between 29 June and 14 September) are set to be bigger, better and brighter than before.

Tickets to all Kynren shows are available now.
