Experience the city’s rich history at the Gloucester History Festival in September with family activities, parades. talks and tours.

Every year, Gloucester’s history is brought to life in a variety of events, with this year's festivities set between 7-22 September. 

Gloucester History Festival celebrates the city's 2,000 years of history with parades, re-enactments and talks and tours. The Blackfriars Talks series features eminent historians and authors covering subjects of local and national interest.

The Festival also encompasses the third largest Heritage Open Days in the country when the city celebrates its wealth of historic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public.
