Grab your tent and learn more about cultures across the world at the long-running World of Music, Arts and Dance Festival.
If alternative music is your thing then we’ve a feeling you’re going to love this. Since its humble beginnings in the 1980s, WOMAD has been welcoming musicians, artists and performers from all over the globe to the rolling hills of the Wiltshire countryside.
The weekend-long celebration of music and arts sees hundreds of world-class acts sharing their talents; top picks from the past are Brazilian singer Gilberto Gil, Mercury Prize-winner Roni Size and Peter Gabriel, who helped found the event.
Expect to find ageing hippies and New Age teens enjoying the beats and alternative therapies surrounding the stage. The WOMAD brand has gone global in recent years and there are now WOMAD events in New Zealand, Australia and Russia.
WOMAD 2019 takes place from 25 to 28 July; a full lineup of artists, performers and workshops will be announced shortly.
