Explore picturesque Clevedon, as seen on TV’s Broadchurch

Clevedon, Bristol

Take your time exploring the coastal town of Clevedon near Bristol – filming location for the TV series Broadchurch.

Unbeknownst to some, much of ITV’s award-winning drama Broadchurch was filmed in Clevedon - a charming Victorian seaside town not far from Bristol. The glorious landscapes in the programme are partly to thank for the show’s popularity and now it’s possible to trace the footsteps of the fantastic David Tennant and Olivia Colman by following a trail of Clevedon locations used in the series.

The trail encompasses the newly-restored Marine Lake, stunning coastal walks overlooking the Bristol Channel and Wales (the likes of which have also inspired poets Coleridge, Thackeray, Tennyson), Marshall’s field (behind the main protagonists fictional houses), a 12th century church as well as the iconic Clevedon pier – the backdrop in One Direction’s You and I video and the film poster for the film Never Let Me Go starring Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield. Take your time exploring this delightful coastal town.
