Enjoy strolls on the grounds of Sandringham Estate

Sandringham, Norfolk

Follow in the footsteps of the Royal Family and explore the Queen's official Norfolk residence.

Sandringham is the Queen’s official residence until February every year, and the place where she spends Christmas with Charles, Anne, Edward – and of course William and Kate. It may be a royal home, but everyone’s allowed in for a look round. And there’s a lot to see, too, with 60 acres of gardens – and of course, the house.

Every room is packed with treasures, a lot of them brought here by royal guests from overseas – you know, Russian Princes, German Emperors, those kind of people. With fresh flowers laid out and photos arranged on side tables, you almost expect Her Royal Highness to walk through the door any moment.

When you’ve finished having a good nose round, why not take a stroll in the gardens? Promenade on the lawn, amble along the woodland paths or head to the lake for some true peace and quiet. Ah, yes… it’s pretty obvious why the royals love it here so much.
