When the sun shines there is only one place to be – beside the sea.
Whether it’s paddling while trying to dodge the bigger waves, sitting on a deckchair eating an ice cream or protecting your chips from the swooping seagulls, nothing beats the quintessentially English seaside holiday.
But if you do want to leave the beach then Brighton is the place to be. On the iconic Brighton Pier you can try your hand at the Dolphin Derby. Marvel as sharks and giant turtles glide above you in the underwater tunnel or swim below you as you ride the glass bottomed boat in the country’s oldest operating aquarium – the Sea Life Centre.
You can get a seagull’s view of the beach with a ride on the Brighton Wheel, which takes you 50 metres above sea level and includes a commentary by comedian Steve Coogan.
