There are hundreds of beers, ales and ciders to test out as you watch the cyclists whizz by at the Manchester Beer & Cider Festival.
Setting a drinks festival in the middle of a cycling racetrack is not as crazy as it sounds. The Manchester Beer & Cider Festival takes place in the centre of Velodrome, with 16 bars offering the finest ales, traditional ciders and natty little perries, while cycling novices and even the GB Cycling Team whizz around.
The event prides itself on ‘Bière Sans Frontières’ so as well as British brews like the Hawkshead Brewery’s Brodie’s Prime and the delicious Chocolate Marble, courtesy of micro-brewers Marble Beers, there’s Belgian’s Timmermanns Peche or Czech Budvar.
Cider-lovers are well catered for too with a mere 75 varieties to choose from. Soak it all up with a Ploughman’s Lunch and watch the cycling from the comfort of your seat.
