Elegance and nature at University of Leicester’s Botanic Garden

Oadby, Leicestershire

See how The University of Leicester’s Botanic Garden enhances the beauty of an already breathtaking place.

Lovers of art and nature can indulge in both of their pleasures with the Sculpture in the Garden exhibition.

The Botanic Garden comprises 16 acres of lovingly cultivated gardens and greenhouses and each year it’s transformed into an inspirational outdoor gallery, becoming the setting for a wide range of traditional and contemporary sculpture. Best of all, admission is free!

Over 400 sculptures have been on display during 12 years of exhibitions and guided tours, educational talks and artist in residence events are frequently held.

Sculpture in the Garden attracts around 30,000 visitors who enjoy wandering around the arboretum, herb and rock gardens and glasshouses displaying temperate and tropical plants, alpines and succulents.

The perfect place for a pleasant stroll, you’ll find plenty of benches dotted around to sit and admire your surroundings and a cafe nearby to quench your thirst.
