Be schooled in the nuances of a vital ancient art

Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

No experience required for this drinker's favourite: just an open mind and a willing palette.

Wine for everyone – that's the motto of Cambridge Wine School, a relaxed and informal way to teach your taste buds the ancient art of wine tasting. Nestled among the city's stunning architecture and canals, the school's aim is to educate and to make sure you get the best deal when next choosing a tipple.

Local journalist Mark Anstead was so taken by wine tasting that he gave up his job interviewing stars for newspapers to be a full-time taste teacher. And tutor Elaine Wood has travelled to all four corners of the globe in her search for the world's best brands. Finally, a chance to look sophisticated at dinner parties.
