Visit a unique Roman cavalry exhibition along Hadrian’s Wall
Hadrian's Wall
2,000 years of history comes to life in Hadrian’s Cavalry, an exhibition celebrating the Roman cavalry regiments.
Taking place from Saturday 8 April to Sunday 10 September 2017, Hadrian’s Cavalry explores the role and daily life of the Roman army’s cavalry forces in a unique wall-wide exhibition that stretches the full 150 miles of Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site zone, from Maryport in the west to South Shields in the east.
Featuring original Roman cavalry objects including ornate helmets, armour and weaponry, the new exhibition also features one the largest Roman Cavalry re-enactments ever seen in the UK. Visitors to Hadrian's Cavalry will be amazed at the splendour of the items on display which are exhibited for the first time as one collection at the location they were first used over 2000 years ago.
