Get a glimpse at the future of British comedy at the annual Leicester Comedy Festival.
Leicester Comedy Festival’s eclectic bill features a mix of TV superstars, newcomers and established veterans trialling new material. Spread over two and a half weeks (6-24 February) in venues across the city, every night is comedy night during the festival. Headline acts for the 2019 event include Russell Howard, Jason Manford and Jo Brand, but be sure to make time for some of the smaller acts too; tickets for these sets are often just £5 and give you the chance to see upcoming comedy superstars.
Another highlight on the calendar is the UK Pun Championships on 11 February. One of the biggest events at the festival, the UK Pun Championships sees comedians from across Britain competing against each other in a “pantomime atmosphere”. Book in advance to see what all the fuss is about.
