Enjoy a romantic escape to Broughton Castle

Banbury, Oxfordshire

Stroll hand in hand through the beautiful gardens and grand Elizabethan manor of Broughton Castle on a romantic break in Oxford.

The honey-coloured fairy-tale castle of Broughton has been in the same family since 1447, and it almost seems as if time has stood still since then.  It is a world of its own with dreamlike gardens, the grand Elizabethan manor at its centre and a moat surrounding the grounds.

Broughton Castle has starred in many films including Shakespeare in Love, and it’s not difficult to see why it is a firm favourite with film makers. Step inside the house where you’ll find traces from every period of the manor’s fascinating history. The gardens are a particular highlight, with wonderful rose gardens, fleur de lys shaped flowerbeds and colourful borders providing the perfect the romantic setting.
