Picture Mr Darcy coming out of the lake
Lyme Handley, Cheshire
The magnificent house, gardens and deer park at Lyme Park was the filming location for the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice.
Start your day with a tour around the incredible house. Enjoy lavish interiors, test your skills on the piano, read a book in the library, or take the children to dress up on the stage. After all that exploring, take the weight off your feet, relax with a speciality coffee and indulge in a cake in the Timber Yard Coffee Shop, or take time out for lunch in the restaurant.
Feeling re-energised after lunch? Take a walk around the deer park and meet the herd of deer that originated in medieval times. Next head to the Edwardian rose garden, ravine garden and herbaceous borders for a more tranquil stroll, before reaching the lake where you can re-enact a certain famous scene where Mr Darcy met Miss Bennett in the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice.
