hirebike provides 40 bikes across Lincoln and North Kesteven, available 24 hours a day, perfect to explore the historic city and surrounding areas. The vibrant orange bikes are free to hire for the first half-hour and just £4 for a whole day’s worth of cycling.

For a longer ride, follow the Water Rail Way south out of Lincoln towards Boston. The route follows the River Witham and is named after the bird that is resident on the river, the Water Rail. You’ll find artwork all along the route that reflects Lincolnshire’s agricultural heritage. It is flat and easy to cycle, ideal for a family day of cycling.
