Get your head in the clouds at Cloud Bar

Anderby Creek, Lincolnshire

Calling all cumulo-lovers: Lincolnshire is home to the world’s first ‘Official Cloudspotting Area’.

In 2009 the Lincolnshire village of Anderby Creek became the world’s first location to get an official cloud-spotting bar, and it’s barely glanced down since. The seaside destination’s Cloud Bar is a place to lie back, relax and check out some cumulonimbuses or cirruses in style.

The bar’s modern wooden frame may not serve alcohol, but it’s fully equipped for the hardiest anorak with various ‘cloud menus’ with which to spot a floating beauty. “The Cloud Bar is an inspired way to remind the public some of nature's most varied and beautiful displays take place daily above our heads,” says Gavin Pretor-Pinney, founder of the Cloud Appreciation Society. High praise indeed.
