Whatever can be done with wood, you’re likely to experience it at The National Forest Wood Fair, set in the stunning Beacon Hill Country Park.

The National Forest Wood Fair is very much a full-day family show in late August, that’s packed with demonstrations, woodcraft sessions and plenty of lively and engaging activities for children.

You’ll see highly experienced craftsmen and enthusiastic amateurs working creatively with wood, and professional woodsmen in serious competition – showing off their well-honed skills with mechanized and traditional forestry tools.

And it’s a doing day for you too, a chance to try willow weaving, wall climbing, coracle paddling, pole lathe turning, pyrography or eco-art. Just roll up your sleeves and have a go, whilst sharing in the fun of the forest.
