Explore the South West's beauty spots with Countryside Mobility

South West England

Get out and about in the South West's countryside beauty spots with Countryside Mobility, who provide safe, enjoyable and easy access to outdoor visitor attractions for anyone who has difficulty walking.

The company

Run by the charity Living Options Devon, Countryside Mobility is a not-for-profit scheme that hires out all-terrain mobility scooters to open up areas that may have been difficult or impossible to navigate in the past. If you're a total newbie, you'll get training on how to use the scooters at one of nearly 50 locations, then you're all set to go - your membership will then cover hiring out a scooter at all locations on the network. The attractions involved in the scheme span far and wide, including gardens, woodlands, nature reserves, coastal paths, country parks, lakes and canals. Whether you're looking for a quiet day out or a busy day of activities, there's something for everyone.

The equipment

The scooters, also known as trampers, help people with limited mobility to independently explore tons of outdoor visitor attractions with ease, regardless of physical ability of condition of path services. They also mean you can make the most of the countryside with friends, family and your other half, and on equal terms with other visitors.
