Located in the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, Blists Hill Victorian Town shows how people lived in the olden days.
As you step back in time and see the dentist shop with hand driven drills (ouch!), sweets made from crushed beetles (yuk!) and candles made from pigs (smelly!) you start to realise that may be we are actually better off today.
Along with child exploitation, everything seemed to contain poison, smoke, soot and poor hygiene. Fear not, however! Those thoroughly modern Health and Safety officers have passed Blists Hill as being perfectly safe to visit so no chance of losing your child up a chimney, or contracting something horrible, but you certainly will pick up an insight into our forefathers’ past lives.
