Journey through hundreds of years of history and discover hidden spaces as you climb to the top of the cathedral tower.
The tour takes you to the bell-ringing chamber, allows you to get up close to the images on the stained glass windows and peer down the fourteenth century quire stalls and Victorian Organ. You’ll also stroll along the galleries and once you’ve climbed the 200 plus steps to the top of the tower, take in the panoramic view of the city and beyond.
During your visit to Chester cathedral you can also explore the most complete set of monastic buildings in the country, a Georgian square, series of streets and the remains of Roman barracks on the Dean’s Field and don’t miss Chester Cathedral Falconry and Nature Garden where you can meet and greet stunning birds of prey.
