Sample a selection of wines at Dedham Vale Vineyard

Boxted near Colchester, Essex

Dedham Vale Vineyard is a great place to experience wine tasting whilst enjoying the pristine rolling English countryside.

Essex enjoys plenty of sunny days - which are essential for ripening the fruit - and relatively low levels of rainfall - which is also good for ensuring a quality harvest. It’s said that grapes for winemaking have been grown here since the days of the Roman occupation.

The vineyard is located in the Dedham Vale and two lakes, a stream as well as several different habitats offer a chance to catch a glimpse of a range of bird species, so birdwatchers, bring your binoculars.

The Vineyard produces a selection of still wines, from a crisp dry white to a medium-bodied red, as well as a couple of delightful sparkling options. Follow the Vineyard Trail through the vines, see the winemaking process in action, and introduce your palate to some stunning English wines before browsing the full selection at the Tasting Barn shop.
