Oktoberfest will take the capital by storm this autumn with three different venues around the city – Canary Wharf, Kensington Olympia and Moorgate. There’ll be endless steins of German beer, foot-long bratwurst and energetic Oompah bands all the way from Germany. The kids can get in on the fun too, with free entry for families on Sundays.
Grab your friends, family and colleagues, and step inside the huge beer tent at The Yards at Mayfield for five nights of pumping live music and Bavarian culture. Filled with long tables and 2,000 people a night, the venue is guaranteed to be atmospheric. You can tuck into traditional German dishes like schnitzel, currywurst and larger-than-life pretzels and sing along to iconic songs re-imagined by the brass instruments of the Oompah bands.
Wilkommen to the most authentic Bavarian folk festival in the land! For one day only, surround yourself with the mouth-watering smells of knödel, sauerkraut and sausages inside the German bierhalle, nestled in the middle of Maidstone’s Mote Park. Shipped straight from the most respected breweries in the country, the barrels of German beer will quench the thirst of dirndl-clad revellers.
Get yourself down to the Bavarian wonderland that is The Passenger Shed at Brunel’s Old Station. Filled with lederhosen-wearing partygoers and draft beer in authentic one-litre steins, the Bristolian festivities are bound to do Germany proud. The UK’s most famous Oompah band, the Bavarian Strollers, are the headline act too, so we’re sure you’ll be up dancing on the tables in no time.
