2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Great Charter, and is the perfect time to uncover the history behind its creation and its impact on democracy. See the last surviving copies of the Magna Carta on display at Lincoln Castle and Salisbury Cathedral where you can explore its legacy on an English heritage break; witness a re-enactment of the battle that resulted in the drawing up of the Magna Carta at Hedingham Castle in Essex, and watch a flotilla of 200 boats sail along the River Thames to mark this historic anniversary.
