Recreate film scenes at Stourhead gardens

Mere, Wiltshire

See the changing colours on a visit to breath-taking Stourhead, where you can see the beauty of nature through the seasons.

Described as ‘a living work of art’, this world-famous landscape garden has within it mystical grottoes, rare and exotic trees, and a lake reflecting classical temples.

Stourhead is an 18th century breath-taking landscape garden in west Wiltshire. The gardens and house are owned by the National Trust. Here you can enjoy lakeside walks, stunning vistas, and nature at its very best. The gardens were used as a film location for the production of Pride and Prejudice starring Keira Knightly.

Visit at various times of the year for the changing colours of the leaves – the garden is particularly stunning during autumn when the trees offer a spectacular display of reds, browns and oranges or during spring when the daffodils dot the lawns.

Stourhead House is a Palladian mansion offering a fascinating art collection, Chippendale furniture and a regency library. The wider Stourhead estate can also be enjoyed, with many walking routes and hidden treasures to be discovered along the way.
