Listen to a survivor at the National Holocaust Centre

Nr. Newark, Nottinghamshire

Visit the Holocaust National Holocaust Centre near Newark for the rare opportunity to hear from those who survived Nazi atrocities during WWII.

Situated in the Nottinghamshire village of Laxton, near Newark, the centre was the country’s first dedicated Holocaust memorial and education centre when it opened more than 18 years ago.

As well as housing a permanent exhibition, which explores the genocide committed by the Nazis, the centre is also a place of reflection and education about the dangers of prejudice and discrimination.

Each year the centre organises a programme of guest speakers who give up their time to share their experiences of the Holocaust or subsequent genocides.

Take a moment to reflect on the past in the peaceful memorial gardens outside where you will find a bed of white roses, many of which have been planted by survivors and their families.
